Karate in Aberdeen, Peterhead, Boddam, Ellon and Fraserburgh
Shi-Gaku-Kan Shotogun Karate Dojos Karate Clubs are run at:
Aberdeen Beach Leisure Centre - Family Class Saturdays 12.30 - 13.30pm
Boddam Community Hall - Friday 6 - 7pm (Childrens Class) 7 - 8.30pm (Adults Class)
Bridge of Don Jesmond Sports Centre - Wednesday 4.30 - 5.20pm
Ellon Victoria Hall- TBA
Fraserburgh Broadsea Hall - Sundays 1.30 - 2.30pm (Childrens Class) 2.30 - 3.45pm (Adults Class) Wednesdays 6.30 - 7.30pm (Childrens Class) 7.30 -8.45pm (Adults Class)
Peterhead Community Centre - Tuesdays and Thursdays 6.30 - 7.30pm (Childrens Class) 7.30 - 9pm (Adults Class)
Classes are £4 per session and are from 5 years to Adult. You will need to pay a yearly
registration and insurance fee to become licensed with the Shi-Gaku-Kan Shotogun Karate Dojos Karate
Clubs, but there are no monthly fees.
The instructors are child orientated and make the classes great fun for the children in
a very friendly way, making this a great way to introduce young children as young as 5 to the
world of karate.
Classes are run by Sensei Mark (5th Dan) and Libby (4th Dan) Donaghy and black belted students.
All instructors are first aid certified, registered at the Scottish Karate Board and are checked
by the Police for Child Protection.

Grampian and Northern Karate Association
Grampian and Northern Karate Association has been run by sensei Brian Bothwell since 1985. The GNKA meet at 18A Broomhill Road in Aberdeen and are full members of the Scottish Karate Governing Body (SKGB). Chief Instructor Brian Bothwell is now a 6th Dan. Their other Aberdeen martial arts and karate clubs can be found throughout the North East of Scotland such as at Portlethen, Inverurie, Ellon, Stonehaven and Inverbervie. Aberdeen Bushido Karate Club
The Aberdeen Bushido Karate Club meets at the McClymont Hall in Holburn Street, Aberdeen, Scotland from 7:30 - 9:30 pm on a Tuesday and Thursday and from 12:30 - 2:30 pm on a Sunday. It teaches traditional Japanese Shotokan Karate and is run by 5th Dan Gordon Farquhar.
